For the past week, I’ve clicked on this link multiple times reading the kind words people have said about Deji…I just still can’t believe this is real. Deji was someone I called my cousin whenever I talked about him. Just because we weren’t blood relatives didn’t mean the bond wasn’t there. From all the group chats we grew up in together, seeing each othergrow in real life every new week at church, I am forever grateful for such an opportunity with a special person that was dear to me. Thank you for still checking up on me and wishing me happy birthday all the way from Michigan while I’ve been in North Carolina for school. You were such an important person in my childhood and young adulthood, I will never forget you. Thank you for being you at all times: funny, helpful, kind, and more. I love you forever and always Olobro. Rest in eternal peace.

There are many things in this world that we’ll never fully understand; this is one of them. I met you my junior year of college, and over the next two years, you became a good friend I could always count on to stop and say hello, no matter where you were or who you were with. I don’t think people realize how important that is in making someone feel like they belong, but you did. When I think about college, you are a big part of my memories, whether it was my experience with you personally or simply your name being mentioned in conversation. Those memories are now the thing that will help the people who love you get by until they see you again. May God’s peace and love be with your family, knowing that you now rest with Him. ️

Dear Deji, we will miss you. We fondly remember your beautiful smile, bubbly personality and respectful demeanor. You always stood out in a good way in the Winners’ Chapel Teens Church. Thank God for the gift of your short but impactful your life. May the Lord comfort and strengthen your parents, sisters and entire family. Rest in peace and in the presence of the Lord ️.

Deji and I used to be friends in Elementary school. The one fond memory I have, is the one day in class, he keeps repeating the song lyrics to, “John The Fisherman” by Primus. I didn’t know the band until I got into them in Highschool, but when I did, that same memory popped into my head. Had a great laugh I still remember, and was always a very sweet person.

Olobro, Dolla Dej, the Egusi Enterprises Founder, and any other nickname you came up with that we all refused to call you. We were all adamant about calling you Deji, meaning double joy, because that’s exactly what you were. Thank you for lighting up every room with your smile and jokes. There are genuinely no memories I have of you that don’t involve laughter. Thank you for being a second brother to me. I am so blessed to have known you the way I did. You were always so supportive of everyone and their endeavors no matter what. Your kind is so rare. You are forever loved. Rest in beautiful peace. Love you forever.

This is so much harder to accept even though it’s real!
Deji!!! You will be missed greatly. Your presence on this earth albeit short was really impactful, and I am filled with memories of you growing up. May your gentle soul rest in perfect peace in God’s bosom.

Deji, we may not have been particularly close, but the few times we interacted, you always showed kindness and made everyone around you smile. You were like a ray of light, and it saddens me greatly to have to write this message today. He was my cousin.When i was younger we use to be so close I remember when we were kids (i was around 4 and he was in middle school or early high school) he would post on his snap chat stories that i was his daughter. The world lost an amazing bright star but heaven gained one. Rest.In. Peace To my favorite cousin and a person I looked up as an amazing role model.

I’m sad to be writing this but it’s what happened i wish you were still here today but sadly your not you were more like a brother to me than a cousin rest in please and you will always be in our hearts deji we all love you.

Oh deji where do I begin. Thank you for being one of my first friends at Central. You were one of the best neighbors anyone could have ever wish for. You helped me meet so many other amazing people and I am just so greatful to have been able to experience cmu with you. I miss the hang outs and running into you at the bar. I miss the random hey how ya doing but now we are all gonna do it for you. Deji, I am still in shock about what has happened. Ever since we were in the same Kindergarten class at Conner Creek I knew we would be brothers for life. The rides to and from school were always fun. I remember being so sad that I left for another school because I was leaving one of my best buds. You radiated every room you stepped in and was a light to the world. Always bringing people together and making people laugh by being our local comedian. We always talked about everything whether it was sports, fashion, school etc. Love you and Im gonna miss you brother.

Deji, I am forever grateful for our friendship and memories we created during our time at CMU. Reflecting on the countless moments we shared it's impossible not to be filled with gratitude for the laughter, the kindness, and the unwavering spirit you brought into every interaction. Your ability to uplift those around you, to spread warmth with your laughter, and to fill every moment with a sense of joy is a gift that will forever be cherished. Deji today we said goodbye to you for the last time and it was more difficult than I could have imagined. You were like a son to me and I hope you know how much we all loved you. Thank you for being a part of our family for so long, always there for Brooklyn as her best friend, having Ryan’s back and keeping an eye on Kyla at CMU. I knew that if I ever needed anything you would be there with an “I got you”. Please know your spirit will always be alive in our house, our minds and our hearts. We will never forget you!

There are many wonderful ways to describe this man. Deji was the life of the room, there was never a dull moment with him, and he made everything a fun time. Opportunistic is one of the ways I describe him as he capitalized on every opportunity there was to live life to its fullest. It was an honor and a blessing to be able to know him for so long and be close to him as a dead friend. He impacted everyone’s lives in tremendously positive ways and never failed to put smiles on everyone’s face. Deji you were a true blessing to us all, and we all love and miss you dearly. Miss my dawg everyday.Still feel like it’s not real honestly.I’m still sick about it.Been heavy on my mind a lot, dealing with a lot of stress, but I smile when I think about the memories we had.I’m even more mad that I never used to take pictures so I don’t have any to post of us.But I miss u, and until we meet again.
