From Northeastern University
The strength of a Northeastern education is our experiential learning model—it enables you to explore your path, find your passion, and acquire the skills and knowledge that prepare you for a lifetime of success. Experiential education is centered around your success. Powered by our signature co-op program (real world experience, often paid, and deeper than an internship) and fueled by your inclination for exploration-driven excellence, experiential learning at Northeastern gives you an edge that will set you apart. There’s no other university experience quite like it. Our graduates prove this every day.
Whether you’re walking the grassy quad en route to class, traversing unfamiliar roads halfway across the globe, or moments away from a breakthrough in the lab, it’s your experiences here that give you a leg up. No two educational paths are the same.

Northeastern University Reviews

Rating 4 out of 5
Northeastern's co-op program was a launchpad for my career. I didn't just graduate with a degree - I gained invaluable real-world experience and a built-in network through my co-op placements. As a health science student, the location couldn't have been better. Imagine being surrounded by top research hospitals like MGH, BWH, Beth Israel, and Boston Children's! Finding mentors and internships was a breeze and I had a plethora of opportunities to choose from. The heart of Boston became my campus too. With museums, a vast array of restaurants and bars, and endless activities on my doorstep, weekends were anything but dull. Whether exploring on campus or venturing into the city, there was always something new to discover.

Northeastern University requires active participation to fully capitalize on its opportunities. The co-op program demands diligent effort to secure placements, and it isn't as easy as you might imagine. Building a significant social life necessitates putting yourself out there. Academics emphasize self-directed learning - but the flexibility allows you to tailor your educational path.
Northeastern provides a stable foundation, but the value of experience depends largely on individual motivation. The university offers a multitude of possibilities, but students must engage to maximize upon benefits. For those willing to take the initiative, Northeastern is a great school.
