MICROWAVE PEPPERONI PIZZA DIP

Whether it’s game day, movie day or a study day, and there’s no way you want to just buy another jar of salsa to serve your obsessed foodie friends. You know, those ones that insist on calling the veggie tray a “Crudités.” Pepperoni Pizza Dip is delicious and so easy you can throw it into the microwave in just minutes.

It’s party time or more specifically Netflix time! That means one thing: party time! Invite all your friends over and whip yourself up a piping hot bowl of creamy, delicious Pepperoni Pizza Dip.

You can eat this dip with pretty much any dippers, and it will entertain a whole room of people while you gather around your tiny laptop screen to watch the game. Maybe next time you should go to your friend with the plasma TV’s house instead. Never mind, you did your best.

HOW TO MAKE MICROWAVE PEPPERONI PIZZA DIP

  1. In a bowl, beat cream cheese and Italian seasoning.
  2. Spread in an ungreased 9-in. microwave-safe pie plate.
  3. Combine mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses; sprinkle half over the cream cheese.
  4. Top with the pizza sauce, remaining cheese mixture, green pepper and onion.
  5. Microwave, uncovered, on high for 2-3 minutes or until cheese is almost melted, rotating a half-turn several times.
  6. Let stand for 1-2 minutes.
  7. Serve with breadsticks or tortilla chips.

SERVE IT PEPPERONI PIZZA DIP WITH

You can dip breadsticks into this tasty dip, but don’t limit your creativity! You can dip garlic bread, bread slices, corn chips or, if you’re feeling really adventurous and don’t really care what anyone thinks of you, BBQ chips.

VARIATIONS ON PEPPERONI PIZZA DIP

  • Add ins: Pretty much anything you can put on a pizza, you can mix into this dip (except anchovies. Your poor microwave will never be the same.) Some of our favorites are finely chopped mushrooms, sausage, bell peppers, and olives.
  • Cheese: There’s nothing better than cheese in dip, so why not add more cheese? You really can’t go overboard with the cheese, so knock yourself out!

PLATE IT UP

You could serve your dip in a messy, terrible, sticky mess smeared across a microwaveable bowl, but why? Why would you disappoint us like that? Instead, take your dip out of the microwave, wipe off any drips and put it on a paper plate. Then, take your dippers and arrange them around the plate surrounding the dip bowl to make it look nice and respectable.

SAVE SOME FOR LATER

You can keep whatever is leftover in the fridge for up to 3 days, as long as you wrap it in plastic wrap and keep air and moisture out of it. We’d definitely recommend eating it pretty soon after you make it though. You don’t want to leave it at the back of the fridge and forget about it. What a waste that would be!

COST FACTOR

$$: There are a few more ingredients than you might think, so the cost can add up pretty quick. You can get pretty much everything at the local grocery store for pretty cheap, plus you can reuse those breadsticks you ordered with your last pizza and have been saving for a rainy day (only if they’re still edible and safe) to dip into the sauce.

MICROWAVE TABLE

  • 1,000 watts or higher: Higher wattage, lower cook time. Our microwave is about 1,250 watts, but if you have one with about 1,000 watts you will want to cook your dip for about 2:30, then again until it’s the right consistency.
  • 700 watts: Microwaves under about 900 don’t heat things evenly or consistently, so don’t go anywhere while you’re cooking. Cook the dip for about 3:26 but keep an eye on it.
