Fresh corn is a must. Would have come out better if I was more patient with getting the bacon crisp. The corn saute needed salt and pepper.

I bought a really nice, fresh piece of halibut from our local fish monger and that makes this recipe. The bacon/corn saute is really easy and good. I made 2 slices of bacon and the whole recipe of corn, etc. for the 2 of us.

very good meal. used mahi mahi. (with some old bay as suggested). cooked the bacon on the grill burner for odor purposes, while i grilled the corn. the lime was a nice addition. diced tomatoes would probably be good in the salad. daughter liked.

The bacony corn is awesome - have used it as a side dish with other protein. Made this with halibut the first time and then with other less pricy fish. I did add some Old Bay to the fish for a little kick.

Really great - couldn't find halibut (out of season) so I used some beautiful tilapia I got at Costo. It was a good substitute. DD wanted more bacon, natch. Quick and easy to prepare and very elegant looking on the plate. I would definitely serve this to guests. We had steamed broccoli on the side.

Amazing recipe for so few ingredients, and so easy! It was one of my all-time favorites. How can so much flavor be packed into one dish?! I used tilapia, also. Wonderful!

Don't skip the lime; it adds a splash of flavor that's just the right touch.

I didn't find anything special about the dish, in fact it was a little bland and in need of spicing up!

Seasoned fish with old bay seasoning which gave it more flavor than salt and pepper. Added halved grape tomatoes to the saute and used yellow onion since that is what I had on hand

This was great! I subbed tilapia for the halibut since it's so pricey. The corn saute was excellent. My non-fish eating husband even managed to compliment this dinner! It came together very quickly for a great weeknight meal.

This was a good, solid recipe, but not the best fish recipe Cooking Light has to offer. I gave it an additional star, because it may have been better with the fresh corn as other reviewers stated.

I picked up the August 2013 edition of CL yesterday and tonight I made this exactly as the recipe was written. It was FANTASTIC! The Bacony Corn Saute could be used with many other dishes and is so yummy I could have eaten a bowl by itself! My 7 & 9 year old both liked it as the Halibut is very mild as far as fish goes. I would have no problem using this dish for a dinner party as it plates beautifully. This is a must try!

Great combo of flavors. Also cooked in different order. Bacon, yellow onion, corn, added small green zucchini, and parsley. Then prepared fish in separate pan. Used tilapia, but will try next with halibut. Fresh corn is the key, along with bacon!

Fresh, bright, clean. The corn would make a wonderful side to many dishes. Whole foods didn't have halibut so I substituted turbot, which was fantastic. Finally - kids loved it!

This is one of the best fish dishes I have ever had, both at home and in a restaurant. I highly recommend it. The only substitution I made was in using Paiche (a peruvian white fish, available at Whole Foods) instead of Halibut. I'm sure it's great with Halibut; Paiche, however, is half the price. Even my fish loathing friends came back for seconds.

It's a keeper! The fresh corn, bacon, and onion saute was delicious with a squirt of lime. Halibut was a bit pricey, so a swordfish substitute was used. This is a very good dish for a summertime supper.

My family loved this dish. I cooked the fish in a separate skillet at the same time I was making the corn dish. I didn't want the fish to get cold.

Excellent recipe. Didn't need the butter at all. Added in some shredded chard with the corn and onions for a little extra nutritional value and it was terrific.

I really enjoyed the fish but the corn sauté was unbelievable. I heartily recommend this with fresh corn cut right off the cob. My daughter scraped the pan not wanting to lose a single kernel!

This meal was outstanding and I HIGHLY recommend trying it. I do suggest using the fresh fish and corn because this made a big difference in the flavors. My husband and I were really pleased with how easy this dinner was and how incredibly flavorful and delicious it was. Better than any place we have eaten out lately or meal we have cooked. GREAT LIGHT, REFRESHING, SUMMER DINNER!

very good, even though I used frozen tilapia instead of Halibut. Cooked everything in a different order too. First I cooked the bacon and poured out the juices. Then the corn mixture with about 2 teaspoons of butter. There was too much goodness in the bottom of the pan to waste, and I had a glass of wine in my hand so I threw it in the pan to deglaze the bacon-ness. I added another little bit of butter and some cooking spray to help the butter move father, and cooked the fish. Served with sliced tomatoes from the neighbors garden brought to me as I was cooking the bacon. Will do this again, but will not salt the fish when I season it; the bacon glaze was salty enough! Enjoy, very easy summer dinner.
